Channel Management - Prices and availability in online channels

Maintaining the price and availability for various distribution channels is time, personnel and cost intensive. Channel Management enables the strategic management of room rates and availability to different partners. Gone are the days when blackout dates frantically had to be closed ot all online portals were closed to avoid overbooking.

Today Channel Manager are partly equipped with extensive revenue and yield functions and can be connected e.g. with the PMS (property management system) or the IBE (internet booking engine). There are 1-Way Channel Manager that collect bookings or cancellations of online platforms at intervals and transmit them to the hotel. And 2-way links, which represent the current availability, but are not available for all channels. Between the Channel Manager and online platforms XML connections should be made, and so on ....
